Spanish Broom Bash: North Sacramento River Trail

We will continue our Spanish broom removal efforts where we did last year and get rid of new plants that have sprouted and others that we cut that have grown back. Randy Smith, with his many volunteers from the Bethel Church School, have been removing the thick infestations on the west side of the trail; we will be working on the sparser east side of the trail where we worked before. This is your chance to directly help improve the habitat for native plants by ridding the area of this invasive shrub. If you have any gardening tools to cut these plants such as loppers, pruning saw, shovel, gloves (we will have some), and especially a garden wagon to carry all the tools ¾ mile up the trail, please bring them. A few students from Shasta College may join us. Everyone can work at their own pace. We will be working 9 am to noon.

Meet at the end of Harlan Drive at the trail head at 9 am.
