The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) cordially invites you to attend the 68th Annual North West Fish Culture Concepts (NWFCC) workshop on December 5-7, 2017 in Redding, California. This year’s theme is Conservation, Mitigation, and Recreation. Invited plenary speakers include CDFW Director Charles H. Bonham, Deputy Director Stafford Lehr and Fisheries Branch Chief Kevin Shaffer. Potential topics at this year’s event include Fish Health and Nutrition, Engineering and Technology, Innovative Husbandry, Fish Genetics and Breeding, Warm Water and Marine Aquaculture, Climate Change and Hatcheries, and Hatchery contributions to Restoration and Conservation. Presentations, vendor exhibits, poster session, workshops, socials, a fantastic raffle, and the opportunity to meet your colleagues make this an excellent event.

We recommend registering early as the NWFCC is a popular annual event. Workshop registration is $110 for three days and includes admittance to the workshop, the Tuesday evening social, and a great gift bag. Students and retirees can register for $55 without a gift bag. Registration deadline is November 21, 2017. We do not anticipate having on-site registration. Guests of registered participants are welcome to attend the Tuesday night social event with $30 admission fee (each) paid at the time of registration.

68th North West Fish Culture Concepts
Annual Meeting

December 5-7, 2017
Redding, California

Conservation, Mitigation, & Recreation

The deadline for submitting abstracts for the 68th Annual NWFCC is September 25th, 2017.
Submissions consistent with the 2017 theme (Conservation, Mitigation, and Recreation) will have
preference; however, all topics relevant to fish culture in the Northwest will be considered.

Session topics may include:
 Fish Health and Nutrition
 Engineering and Technology
 Innovative Husbandry
 Fish Genetics and Breeding
 Warm Water and Marine Aquaculture
 Policy and Management
 Climate Change and Fish Hatcheries
 Fish Hatcheries in Restoration and Conservation

Guidelines for abstract submissions:
1) Title–Bold title in Arial, 12 point font, at top of abstract
2) Presenter– List authors and designate presenter by a ” * ” , employer or affiliation, mailing address,
city, state, zip, phone, and email should be included
3) Oral Presentation or Poster – Please indicate presentation type before the abstract
4) Abstract– (500 word limit) – Use Arial Font / Size 12 in MS Word
5) Tables – A table or figure can be included with the abstract, but the entire “expanded”
abstract (Abstract plus table or Figure) is restricted to one page total.
6) Submission – Please submit by September 25th, 2017 to NWFCC2017@wildlife.ca.gov
