Workshop "Water-Wise Landscaping" 9am-1pm

March 13, 2010
Tehama County

The Tehama County Resource Conservation District's workshop, "Water-Wise Landscaping", is set for Saturday, March 13, from 9 AM to 1 PM, at the Tehama District Fairground, Jr. Art Building.

The workshop is free and open to everyone. This is the second of three workshops in our yard and garden series. Attending all three workshops is not a requirement, so if you missed the first one you are welcome to join us for this one. And for those of you who attended the first workshop, here's your chance to see how our strawberry plants are doing in the "no-till" garden!

The "Water-Wise Landscaping" workshop will include presentations on making your yard water-wise, soil type and watering, building up your soil, scheduling irrigation of your landscape, installing irrigation systems, and carbon sequestration.

Check your local newspaper for articles on our workshops. This is the second of three workshops the Tehama County RCD is offering on gardening, landscaping, and creating defensible space from wildfire around your home.

If you live in Tehama County, on the east side of the Sacramento River, ask about our free Yard & Garden Evaluations. For our west side residents, we have created a list of individuals interested in having an evaluation and we are working on obtaining funding to make the evaluations available.

Interested parties are asked to RSVP for the workshop and can receive additional information by contacting the Tehama County RCD at 527-3013, ext. 3.
